The NCOE understands that centers of excellence in each state are only as good as the legislation that creates, enables and funds them to operate. There are also numerous federal legislative issues that impact on the size of center operations, and on their abilities to successfully transfer and commercialize the technologies they help develop. NCOE will be active in helping identify best legislative practices, will provide research into legislative issues, and is in a unique position to provide specific legislative development and consultative services. Some of this assistance may need to be done on a fee-for-service basis.

Additional Federal Funding Match
The NCOE has identified an important need for additional federal resources to match state investments in their technology commercialization programs. The NCOE will take the lead in developing the best political approach to accomplish this task. If the strategic funding initiative currently being developed as part of the GAMBIT Center starts to generate strong support, this may become the major focus of the NCOE in the near term.

If you feel that a legislative activity you are involved in might benefit from involving one or more NCOE legislative assistance services, please contact NCOE to explore the possibilities. As with all NCOE consulting, there is absolutely no obligation on your part to enter into a contract as the result of simply investigating the possible use of NCOE-arranged professional services. Your contact and other data will be held in strictest confidence by NCOE and its affiliated professionals.
