NCOE plans to conduct and publish a series of studies on topics of critical interest and import to centers of excellence. Because the NCOE is focused in the niche of “how to” do the best job in technology commercialization, it will be seeking opportunities to define best practices and new approaches to these activities. Funding sources to accomplish studies will include grants, foundation funding, gifts, and other government and philanthropic sources.
First Nationwide Survey Study
The first major project and report released by the NCOE is an update to a 1997 study entitled “State Technology Development and Commercialization Programs - A Survey of the States.” The 2005 update is available for review and download (as a PDF or Word file) on this website. It provides comprehensive and detailed information about what each state is doing to support centers of excellence, and information on various state-level initiatives to encourage technology development, transfer and commercialization.
Project Studies
As each major project is completed, a final report and study will be published by the NCOE. In most cases those studies will be made available through this website page on an unrestricted basis.
